Trends in Bathroom Remodeling Columbus Bath Design by Columbus Bath Design June 2017When you are planning on home decorating, redoing the bathroom is often at the top of the list. A bathroom remodel follows furniture and fashion trends. Bathrooms must become functional and innovative after remodeling and trends in doing this keep changing ever so quickly.

Compared to the bathrooms of the past, bathrooms in modern homes have become almost three times bigger than earlier. Bathroom trends for the remodeling include cabinets that hold sinks and make for stylish furniture. The most common trend is to have other cabinets that serve as bathroom furniture to be wall hung. Sinks have become brighter with the advent of fiberglass and acrylic sinks. Small style tips like tub coverings can improve the looks of a bathroom without having to invest large sums of money. Current trends in bathroom remodel have included the flooring, which ranges from vinyl to concrete instead of the traditional tiles. Concrete floors last longer and can be colored to become a part of the home decorating scheme.

Among current bathroom trends is the changing of fixtures to chrome or gold plated, instead of the plastic and resin that were among the earlier trends. Jacuzzis have replaced tubs and most shower-seekers opt for steam options. Water usage is also another topic that is trending and people are conscious about reducing the usage of water in showerheads and toilets. Many have become low or dual-use. Water heaters used in modern-day bathrooms are those that supply hot water on demand, not the storage types that were common earlier. Lighting in bathrooms has also given due weight to energy efficiency while, if possible as part of home decorating, natural lighting and ventilation are given preference. Mirrors are used to create the illusion of space and making rooms that much brighter.
